Therefore, ammonia can be efficiently stored in liquefied/liquid form in low pressure storage tanks such as large-scale atmospheric bimetal storage tanks or small-scale vaccum & perlite/fiberglass insulated storage tanks. Chemical engineering.
Amonia can be used to make many types of compounds including Amines, Nitriles, Hydrgen cyanide, Hydrazine, Hydroxylamine, Ammonium carbonate, Phenol, Urea, Amino acids etc which can be further used to make ingredients for dyes, medicines & drugs, pesticides, plastics, synthetic fibers (such as nylon), synthetic rubbers, water purification chemicals etc.
Agro-processing Industry.
Ammonia solutions can be used in the fermentation industry as the sources of nitrogen for microorganisms. They can also adjust pH during the fermentation process.

Ammonia is an effective antimicrobial agent and anhydrous ammonia is commercially used to eliminate microbial contamination of beef. It is also considered as a strong antiseptic.
Ammonia can be used as a refrigerant in industrial refrigeration systems and is also used as a source of nitrogen needed for yeast and microorganisms.
Metallurgy Industry.
Disassociated ammonia can be used in metal heat-treating for case-hardening of steels, reduction of metal oxides, sintering, brazing, glass-to-metal seals and metallizing.
Mining Industry.
Ammonia can be used in the extraction of metals such as copper, nickle and molybdenum from their ores.
Petroleum Industry.
Ammonia can be used to neutralize the acid constituents of crude oil and protect equipment from corrosion.
Pulp & Paper Industry.
Ammonia is used to pulp wood and as a casein dispersant in the coating of paper.
Rubber & Leather Industries.
In rubber, ammonia is used to stabilize the natural and synthetic latex to prevent premature coagulation. The leather industry uses it as a curing agent, as a slime and mould preventative intanning liquors and as a protective agent for leathers and furs in storage.
Stack Emission Control.
Ammonia is used to neutralize sulphur oxides from combustion of sulphur-containing fuels, and as a method of nitrous oxide control in thermal power house stack emissions.
Water Treatment.
Ammonia is widely used as a neutralizing agent for acid correction and PH control in various effluent treatment plants and waste water management.
