Demisting System of (Air Heated Vaporizers) AHVs

Air heated vaporizers (AHVs) are high efficiency, environment friendly and energy saving devices that use air to conduct heat exchange. AHVs are mainly used for regasification of cryogenic/low temperature (-104℃~-196℃) fluids, such as: LO2, LN2, LAR, LNG, LC2H4, namely, the transformation of a cryogenic liquid into normal temperature gas, to meet the application of steel, solar energy, electronics, shipbuilding, natural gas industry, chemical industry and other fields.


Generally, a large size AHV (2000 Nm3/h or above) faces misting issues in the process of practical application. Although there is no chemical pollution to the environment, but a large volume of white mist spreading to production areas would affect the operator's line of sight. In a large regasification station, the white mist would even permeate the whole area, which brings hidden dangers to the normal operation of the factor and road traffic. Therefore, it is necessary to study a reasonable demisting device.


The generation of white mist

A large AHV heats and vaporizes the cryogenic medium/content through natural atmospheric convection and heat exchange tube. After heat exchange, the air temperature decreases, and the water vapor in the air condenses to form the white mist, which gathers at the bottom of the vaporizers and diffuses around. The results show that △ T ≤ 0 is the region where white mist occurs.


Description of demisting system

DoerCryo's AHV demisting device, includes (from bottom to top) the silencer, the blower (a motor & impellers), the air channel & bend. The device is installed on the fence arround the AHV.


Working Principle

The fence can contain the mist within its area to prevent mass diffusion to other areas. The dimister on the outside of the fence can draw the mist, mix it with air or heat it and then discharge the mist upward, with a flexiable power corresponding to the volume of the mist. Fresh air is mixed again at the outlet of the device to ensure the mist is removed completely. By improving the air flow speed arround the AHsV, the switching time of AHVs can also be prolonged to have a better performance.
