Offloading & Erection of Vacuum Insulated LNG Storage Tanks

2018 05/26

Measures for offloading and placement of LNG vacuum insulated storage tanks: (1) Tie lifting lugs on the body and legs of the storage tanks with ropes according to the lifting instruction diagram (if no lifting lugs are set, chains or ropes can be tied onto the outer side of the saddle at the bottom of the storage tanks). (2) Remove the chain, rope or support that holds the tank to the truck bed. (3) Raise the tank a few inches and ensure there is nothing attached between the tank and the trailer. (4) Move the tank away from the trailer and place it on a solid concrete foundation, or if the foundation is under construction, place the tank in the designated storage area.

Precautions for erection of vacuum insulated storage tanks.

The following factors should be considered before installation of storage tanks (especially larger ones) at the customer's location.

The storage tank should be located with dense soil, easy to operate and close to the liquid delivery point. A firm soil condition should be provided to prevent damage to equipment during installation and storage. Ensure that the foundation of the storage site is away from the drain. If tanks are placed outdoors, the tanks and associated equipment, if any, shall not be exposed to or placed in the vicinity of lines of power source, flammable liquids or gases.
